Animation  The new library will have a meeting room that will accommodate 175 people, which will be a great resource, since many of the library’s programs are now being held in the children’s area of the library. Our current meeting room is in near-constant use for sorting books for the Friends’ sales, as a Homework Center, and for various small community and library programs.

We will be holding an exciting library event in the Children’s area of the library soon.  We have scheduled a 3-D Animation Seminar with live interactive demonstrations presented by Steve Klitzing, a published educational computer game designer who has a successful game in international distribution. Involved in 3D animation since 1991, he founded the Ohlone College 3D animation program in 1997 and taught it through 1999. He has also worked for The Learning Company and Zoo-phonics. He will be sharing employment and career information about the field as well.

The program will be held Saturday, April 28th from 2:00-4:00pm.

I agree, having a meeting room that will hold 175 people, open to the community for events is something sorely needed in Castro Valley. Events in the meeting room will bring many people to the facility who may not have gone there before. And, hopefully, they will come back to use the facilities and support the ongoing and never ending needs of the library.
