Today in the Castro Valley Forum, a very nice article appeared on the new library.  Thanks  to the Forum for the great coverage.  The Forum reported that groundbreaking was scheduled for July or August 2009.  Actually, according to Project Manager Jeff Day, groundbreaking is scheduled for April 2008,  and opening is scheduled for July or August 2009.

The new library seems to be a pretty important thing to you…Am I imagining it? Am I reading into this? The wireless zone WILL be pretty cool…can my old MAC laptop even get on-line when I’m there (it won’t work in most cafes!)?

We, in Castro Valley, are way over-due for a new library. I am looking forward to not only the new structure itself but also for the positive impact it will have on our community—it will be an important gathering place and a focus for our area. I am anxious to see it open and provide us with a place for ALL ages to come together and enjoy, to use often.
