Presenter Steve Klitzing captivated the imaginations of a large crowd with his program on the history of 3-D animation on Saturday. He spoke about how he got into the field, inventing a game called “Read & Spell” that made $2.5 million for Zootronics that is now in international distribution. He acquainted us with animation and modeling terminology, and recommended sources of software and online animation training. He also covered career and employment information–where the bay area jobs are in 3-D, the types of jobs available, other industries that use 3-D–and noted that, if you are good, “you can write your own ticket.

Luckily for us, Steve has taken up orchid growing as a hobby and will be returning on Tuesday, May 8th at 6:30 to present “Orchids: Everything About Them!” If you are an orchid fancier, or just want to learn how to keep one alive, come hear Steve talk about the different kinds of orchids and their cultivation and care. His orchid program at Heather Farms in Walnut Creek played to standing room only crowds!
