worldebooks2.jpgThere seems to be no real danger of print books becoming obsolete any time soon, but each year more and more books are available full text somewhere online. The Alameda County Library includes thousands of e-books from Net Library in the Library catalog, Safari Tech computer books are available for all the latest computer applications and operations, and last year ACL joined with other California libraries in a consortium that offers downloadable audio books. Click here to find out more about these services from the Library.  From July 4-August 4, over half a million titles in 100 languages will be offered free on line at the World e-book Fair. You may not want to curl up with your laptop to read the next hot bestseller, but check out this e-book extravaganza and get a glimpse of the future of publishing.
