mystery-display.jpgSo far this summer we’ve had over 140 entries for our  5th annual  Adult Summer Reading Game and this year “Mystery in the Big City” is available at all branches of the Alameda County Library. It’s really not much of a “game” but, in the spirit of trying to keep things simple for our busy adult patrons, it is a contest where our readers read books on the theme and enter titles along with their names and phone numbers. We draw a winner’s name each Monday, and he or she may choose gift cards for Pete’s Coffee & Tea or See’s Candies. This year the candy cards are going strong with most winners opting to satisfy their sweet tooth. (In the past our coffee cards have been the prize of choice.) At the end of the game August 18, each Branch Library will draw one winner for the grand prize of a $50.00 book store gift card. Click here for more information about the game, get recommended titles, and tell us what big city mysteries you are reading this summer. Drop by any time before August 18 to find an entry box and forms along with a book display of big city mysteries. There is no limit to number of entries, the more you read the better your chances!
