oldtvA representative from the FCC will be here at the Castro Valley Library,  this Saturday, November 8, at 11 AM,  to present an informational program on the coming Digital TV transition.   On February 17, 2009, federal law required that all full power television stations stop broadcasting in analog format and broacast only in digitial format. If you are receiving television reception with a roof top antena or rabbit ears you will be affected by this change.

The FCC rep will talk about the converter box you will need to buy and will demonstrate how to install it. The FCC is offering a coupon to use toward buying the box (each household may request 2 coupons). Boxes  may be purchased at most electronics stores.  Bring your questions about this important change to the Library this Saturday.

For more information check out the FCC site at www.dtv.gov.
