Since school is not in session this week, the Library has had some special events for kids. On Monday and Tuesday the entire children’s area turned into board game heaven. Dozens of different games old and new were available for challenges.

I love the board games available in the children’s section. What a wonderful idea! My daughter and I walked into the library expecting to select a few books and dvds as usual and be on our way. But when we saw a cart with every board game we had ever heard of sitting by an area of open tables, we had to have a game or two. We played Chutes and Ladders and Sorry! and had such a nice time. I got to play the same version of Chutes and Ladders with my daughter that I had played as a child, and I got to be the big-shot who knew the rules of the game. It was an unexpected treat, and just another reason I am so grateful for my local library. Thank you CV Library, you are Castro Valley to me.
