Here are a few more recommendations from our library patrons who have joined our Summer Reading Prize Drawing. Click on the tiles for more information.
Jennifer is a fan of Mrs. Poe by Lynn Cullen. She says this story of Frances Osgood’s ill-fated relationship with Edgar Allen Poe is rich in detail and full of suspense.
Melissa loved The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein so much, she bought it after checking it out from the library!
Margaret went back to the classics and reviewed The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas. She appreciated the way Dumas intertwined the characters’ lives and how the plot kept her hooked. “This is a great book,” she wrote, “much better than the movie.”

Pearl gave an excellent rating to The Blood of Flowers by Iranian author Anita Amirrezvani, writing “I found it hard to put down.”
June highly recommends Caroline Lazo’s Freedom Writer, which tells about the personal life of prolific author Alice Walker.
The Language of Flowers by Vanessa Diffenbaugh earned an excellent rating from Melissa. She writes that it brought tears to her eyes.
Lastly, Ann wants to recommend Hailey’s War by Jodi Compton. It’s a detective thriller set in California. “Light enough to read at the gym; intriguing enough to keep you wanting more,” says Ann.

As part of our Summer Reading Game for adults we are asking participants to share book reviews with us.
Avineet gave an excellent rating to The Time Keeper by Mitch Albom. She writes, “it makes you think about things you normally wouldn’t think about, such as how man is the only creature on this planet that counts time.”
Michelle reviewed the classic The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne. She actually listened to the audiobook version and writes that it gave the story a “whole new flair!”
