CoveredCaliforniaLogoThe Alameda County Library will once again be offering an opportunity for people to enroll in a health insurance program with the help of representatives from Covered California.

Covered California helps Californians get brand-name health insurance under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. It’s the only place to get federal premium assistance to help you buy private insurance. You may qualify for a discount on private insurance, or get health insurance through the state’s Medi-Cal program.

Castro Valley Library will host representatives on the following Saturdays:

–November 21, 11 am to 2 pm

–December 5, 11 am to 2 pm

–December 19, 11 am to 2 pm

–January 16, 11 am to 2 pm

All are welcome on a first come, first served basis.

You will need the following documents to complete your application:

–Proof of citizenship (naturalization certificate or green card if applicable)

–Proof of address (ID card or utility bill)

–Proof of household income (tax form or pay stubs)

–Social Security numbers

Assistance will be available at other library branches as well. Contact each branch individually for specific dates and times.
