Our first Summer Reading Game Program at the new library looked very similar to ones we’ve had at the old place…packed with kids and families, laughing and having a lot of fun . Randel McGee and his puppet Groark stopped by to entertain over 200 people with his unique brand of music and stories. Gone are the days of cramming everybody into a tiny space in the children’s area. Now, people got to kick back, spread out, and enjoy a great show in our new (and spacious) meeting room.

Speaking of great shows, this Summer is packed with them. Every Monday from here until August 16th, we will be having weekly entertainment aimed for kids. These fun and free events start at 2:00 pm and will include such exciting things as magic shows, puppet shows, crafts, and even a circus act!!! Coming up next week on June 28th is Puppet Art Theater which will be performing “Tommy’s Pirate Adventure”

The fun stuff doesn’t stop there. Other programs going on during the Summer will be our afternoon theater every Tuesday in July. Unleash your inner child and join us for our gamedays the last 2 Wednesday’s in July. Career oriented adults might want to join us for our online social networking class. There promises to be something for everybody this Summer at the Castro Valley Library, so take a look at our calendar of events and come on down and join the fun.
