LEGO entries

Spring Break at the Castro Valley Library gives kids a chance to have fun with friends old and new at special activities every weekday. Monday was LEGO Club’s “Space” event, which had 20 contest entries, and a “block party”.

Tuesday through Thursday, there were activities from the popular Daring Book for Girls and the Dangerous Book for Boys. Tuesday was “Best Paper Airplane Ever” Day, and Wednesday featured colorful spools of plastic lacing that was made into lanyards, key chain fobs, bracelets and other creative and unique jewelry items by kids of all ages. Join us Thursday from 2-3pm for another fun craft!

csv_model3.jpg  What do the Castro Valley Library and Paul Revere have in common?  APRIL 18th.

The poem goes “on the eighteenth of April, in seventy-five, Hardly a man is still alive who remembers that famous day and year”.

That date is about to be famous for another reason here in Castro Valley.  We are finally breaking ground on our new library on Friday April 18th 2008!!

You are invited to join the  Alameda County Board of   Supervisors, and the Alameda County Library at the Ground Breaking for the New Castro Valley Library.

Please join us at 3:30 pm, 3600 Norbridge Ave. Castro Valley for this long awaited community triumph.

Jos Sances, the mural artist for the Children’s Area of our new library will be here to meet with kids & their families this Saturday at 1pm. Come and see his proposal boards and tile sample. He may also take photos of our patrons for possible inclusion in the mural!

Then stay to enjoy the comedy magic of Ashkenazi the Pretty Good who is appearing at 2pm–he’s more fun than a barrel of squid!
